Ban Ki-moon Will Hold Talks In Iran

New York – In view of the growing tensions between Israel and Iran wants UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to speak with the leadership in Tehran. His spokesman Martin Nesirky announced Wednesday that Ban wants to use a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Iran for this purpose.

It should ban together with both the religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The Secretary-General will address all the issues that “burn under their nails” of the international community at present, said Nesirky. This included Tehran’s threats against Israel and the Iranian nuclear program.

The crisis in Syria, an ally of Iran, the spokesman said Ban will bring to the table. The meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement is for the period from 29 to 31 September scheduled.

Israel and the U.S. do not recommend travel

Israel and the U.S. had previously Ban urged not to travel to Iran.“Sir, your place is not in Tehran,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as the travel plans were announced for the first time in early August Bans.
